The NOTIFIER FSP-951T Series intelligent plug-in multi detectors are designed for both performance and aesthetics. A new modern, sleek, contemporary design and enhanced optical sensing chamber is engineered to sense smoke produced by a wide range of combustion sources in accordance with more stringent code standards. The FSP-951 Series detector sensitivity can be programmed in the control panel software. Sensitivity is continuously monitored and reported to the panel. Point ID capability allows each detector’s address to be set with rotary, decimal address switches, providing exact detector location for selective maintenance when chamber contamination reaches an unacceptable level. Dual electronic thermistors add 135°F (57°C) fixed temperature thermal sensing on the FSP-951T. The FSP-951R is a remote test capable detector for use with DNR Series duct detector housings. Model FDOT421 utilizes an infrared light emitting diode (IRLED), and infrared light-sensing photodiode. Under normal conditions, light transmitted by the LED is directed away from the photodiode and scattered through the smoke chamber in a controlled pattern. The smoke chamber is designed to manage light dissipation and extraneous reflections from dust particles or other non-smoke, airborne contaminants in such a way as to maintain stable, consistent detector operation. When smoke enters the detector chamber, light emitted from the IRLED is scattered by the smoke particles, and is received by the photodiode. Model FDOT421 also utilizes a modern, accurate and shock-resistant thermistor to sense temperature changes. The signal processing with detection algorithms allows the detector to first gather smoke and thermal data, and then analyze this information in the detector’s `neural network.’ By comparing data received with the common characteristics of fires or fire signatures, Model FDOT421 can compare these signals to those of deceptive phenomena that cause other detectors to trigger a false alarm .

Robust: This parameter set offers improved resistance to false alarms in areas where misleading sources, such as cigarette smoke or exhaust fumes, may cause a nuisance alarm. Standard: This parameter set, which is practically ideal for normal office, hotel-lobby-type applications, is the default setting. Alarm Source 2 (Thermistor) – Heat only; provides the following: • Static / fixed at 135°F (57°C), default setting • Rate-of-Rise detection at 15°F / min. (8.3°C / min.) Additionally, Model FDT421 is a cost-effective, two-wire / addressable thermal detector that provides a distinctive, advanced feature: seven (7) field-selectable temperature settings specially tailored for application-specific detection needs. The temperature-range settings for each Model FDT421 detector is between 135°F (57°C) ─ 174°F (79°C) with fixed and rate-of-rise programmability. This variance provides the customer with maximum flexibility to program the temperature settings to suit multiple application needs and changing environmental conditions. Model FDT421 can be configured to provide a low-temperature warning signal at 40°F (4.4°C). The Discovery Optical Smoke Detector works on the light scatter principle and is ideal for applications where slow burning or smouldering fires are likely. •The Discovery Optical Smoke Detector has a white moulded polycarbonate case with wind-resistant smoke inlets. The indicator LEDs are colourless when the detector is in quiescent state and red in alarm. Within the case is a printed circuit board which on one side has the light proof labyrinth chamber with integral gauze surrounding the optical measuring system and on the other the address capture, signal processing and communications electronics. An infrared light emitting diode within its collimator is arranged at an obtuse angle to the photo-diode. The photodiode has an integral daylight blocking filter. The IR LED emits a burst of collimated light every second. In clear air the photo-diode receives no light directly from the IR LED because of the angular arrangement and the chamber baffles. When smoke enters the chamber it scatters light from the emitter IR LED onto the photo-diode in an amount related to the smoke characteristics and density. The Model DB-11 detector base can be used with the optional Siemens Model LK-11 detector locking kit, which contains 50 detector locks and an installation tool to prevent unauthorized removal of the detector head. Model DB-11 has aesthetically conducive plugs to cover the outer mounting-screw holes.
